Fifth Grade Science
What are we Learning About
We are learning about the Ecology and how plants, animals, water, and the terrain all have an impact of the environment. To discover more about this we are working hard to try to answer the mega question: Why do some animals need the land and water unchanged and some animals change the land and water?
What Can I Do With My Family
Here are some things you and your family can do together:
1. Go on a nature walk and see if you can find any evidence of whether the environment is healthy or not. Take some pictures of the terrain. You can email the pictures to Mrs. Sturk (go to the "Contact" page) and I will add them to this web page.
2. Ask your family if they know or have been to any places that was biodiverse (like the Grand Canyon, Mt. St. Helen, or Hawaii).
3. Go to the zoo and see if you and family can predict what type of environment each animal needs in order to survive. Family: Ask your student what parts of the animals environment are most important for that animals survival.
